Composer

"Holger's compositions are generally related to his projects, but he also produced experimental "standalone" compositions.

"Ahana"listen ...
This is a vocal and piano composition based on a text by Sri Aurobindo.
The vocal lines are sung on a single note. Pitch and sometimes length of the note is controlled by software, resulting in an alienated timbre.

"More Time"listen ...
A violin and piano study influenced by Arvo Paert attempting what the title says: having more time.

"Too Indian"listen ...
In Indian colloquial English “too” is often used in the sense of “very much”.
I removed all strings from an electric guitar but the top one. This string I kept very loose, which allows me the Indian style of wide range of pitch bending.

"The Hour of God"listen ...
This is a very famous and brilliant writing of Sri Aurobindo.
The composition is for six voices.
Gabriele - Soprano, Nuria - Mezzo, Tina - Alto,
Holger - Tenor, Martin - Baritone, Lukas - Bass
The piano is programmed.

"Sonare Nr 5"listen ...
This violin piano piece was composed in 1982 under the strong impression of Steve Reich. I composed it for the second round of a chamber music competition in Florence, where I played with the Uruguayan pianist Adriana Pedemonte.

"Audio books"listen ...
Several works composed for the German Edition “Ohrbuch Verlag” in 1989.

"Ten Poems of Sri Aurobindo"listen ...
Originally composed as a quartet for piano, violin, cello and clarinet
for the "Third Millennium Celebrations" in Auroville. This is an orchestral arrangement realized at my studio, narrated by the French singer Graeme Allwright.
